Garcia-Tsao, MD
Guadalupe Garcia-Tsao, MD, received her medical degree from Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City. She completed
a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at
the Instituto Nacional de la Nutrición in Mexico City and a fellowship
in hepatology at Yale University/West Haven VA Medical Center. Dr. Garcia-Tsao
is currently Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine.
She is Staff Physician at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven
Connecticut, where she is also Program Director of the Hepatitis C Resource
Center. Dr. Garcia-Tsao is Associate Editor of the Journal of Hepatology
and is a member of the NIDDK-C Experienced Reviewer Reserve. As of January
2004, she will be secretary of the American Association for the Study of
Liver Diseases. Dr. Garcia-Tsao has published numerous journal articles,
book chapters, and abstracts, mainly related to cirrhosis and its complications.
