Sheila Lahijani, BS, RPh

Sheila Lahijani is completing her final year of medical studies at Brown Medical School in Providence, RI. Prior to attending Brown, she studied at the University of Rhode Island where she concentrated on pharmaceutical sciences and Spanish literature. Some of Sheila's research experience in medical school has focused on infectious diseases, with specific attention to HIV. She recently investigated the screening and primary care management of chronic hepatitis C virus in the state of Rhode Island and created a template for a state-wide hepatitis C strategic plan. Sheila will graduate with her MD degree in May 2007 and plans to pursue a career in internal medicine with a special interest in the psychosocial components of medical care.
