Christine Pocha, M.D. Ph.D.

Dr. Christine Pocha is a staff gastroenterologist at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center and was appointed as Co-Director of the Minneapolis Hepatitis C Resource Center in 2008.

Dr. Pocha transferred from Albany VAMC where she worked as Hepatitis C Lead Clinician for several years and was responsible for the care of patients with hepatitis C and other liver diseases.  Dr. Pocha attended medical school at the Friedrich Schiller University (Health Sciences) in Germany. She completed ten years of training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the same university, gaining special knowledge in Hepatology.  She is board certified in Medicine and Gastroenterology.  In addition, she completed a doctoral thesis in clinical pharmacology on liver metabolism (PhD program).

She is Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Medicine.

Her current research interest include liver cancer and end-stage-liver disease as well integrated care models between Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine to provide expert care to patients with chronic liver diseases.
